How To Measure
Measuring is different depending on the style of awning you choose. Refer to the How To Measure instruction sheets for details. Once you’ve established the size awning you need, transfer that information to the order form. Selecting A Fabric Select a fabric from one of our custom fabric books. Make sure to fill in the type of fabric, number and color on the order form (this information is located on the back of the fabric swatch).

How To Measure — Australia
This product must be mounted into either a wood fascia board, studs or “header” above door (unexposed header underneath stucco wall is acceptable). Measure the width of the opening and add at least 12" to that dimension. It can be wider if you choose. There are six (6) arm size projections: 4', 5'3", 6'11", 8'7", 10'-2" and 12'.

Measure the desired projection area and pick one of the six projection arm sizes. Take into consideration where the retractable is to be mounted; the fascia, wall, or roof. Also, consider that if mounting on the fascia, you need at least 6" of an area to mount on to.

  • Awning width will be manufactured to exact custom sizes. The price is based on the next largest foot increment. See pricing guide.
  • No permits are needed for this product.
  • Make sure the area where the awning is to be mounted is clear of all obstacles, light fixtures and eave overhangs.

How To Measure — Dana, Catty, Lori
To determine the width, measure the width of the window including any window moldings and/or trim outside to outside then add at least 8". For the height, measure half of the window height measurement including any window moldings and/or trim and then add 6". For the projection, simply match the height dimension.

  • Awnings will be manufactured to exact custom sizes. The price is based on the next largest foot increment. See pricing guide.
  • This formula gives the window maximum sun blockage. For less blockage, do not add 6" to height measurement.
  • Make sure the area where the awning is to be mounted is clear of all obstacles, light fixtures and eave overhangs.

Example:

Width: 48" + 8" = 56"
Height: 48"
÷ 2 = 24" + 6" = 30"
Projection: Same as height = 30"
Awning Size: 56" (w) x 30" (h) x 30" (p)

How To Measure — Serena
To determine the width of the Serena, measure the width of the window including any window moldings or trim outside to outside then add at least 8". To determine the height of the awning, divide the total width measurement (including the added 8") by 2. For the projection, simply match the height dimension.

  • Awnings will be manufactured to exact custom sizes. The price is based on the next largest foot increment. See pricing guide.
  • This formula gives the window maximum sun blockage.
  • Make sure the area where the awning is to be mounted is clear of all obstacles, light fixtures and eave overhangs.

Example:

Width: 52" + 8" = 60"
Height: 60" ÷ 2 = 30"
Projection: Same as height = 30"
Awning Size: 60" (w) x 30" (h) x 30" (p)
