How
To Install Window Canopies
Tools needed:
- Electric drill
5/16"
- Hex bit
- Tape measure
- Level
Follow these simple directions to insure an accurate, secure
installation of your new Retractable/Fixed Window Canopy:
1. Unfold the awning into its shape on the ground.
2. A. For a Fixed awing, install the necessary fixed supports
(3/16" x 1" flat aluminum bar) into the inside of the awning,
using the 5/16" x 1" Hex screws.
2. B. For a Retractable awning, simply “lock-in” the built-in
supports in the awning.
3. Determine the installation height of the awning by holding the awning
above the window or door.
4. Attach the “U” shaped mounting brackets to the wall, the width of the
awning, using at least 5/16" x 2" screws. Use anchors if
necessary.
5. Lift the awning into the mounted “U” shaped brackets, making sure the
awning fits snugly and is level.
6. Install the bottom two (2) 5/16" x 2² screws into the two (2)
bottom hinges, using anchors (anchors not necessary if attaching to wood.)
7. Retractable Awnings Only: Install the Rope Cleat on the wall
if desired.
